THE LAST GERMAN MINE WORKERS
Bottrop / Germany
The German Coal industry provided jobs, energy and a way of life for those who had chosen to join it.
While time went on, importing Coal got 3 times cheaper than extracting it. Therefore, closing the mines was an economic necessity. On 21th December 2018, the Last Coal Mine, located in Bottrop (Prosper Hainel) turned out their lights forever.
An Era has came to an end.
